Saulsbury Industries constructed a 500kV 1,800 MVA substation as part of the local power company's expansion project. The substation was noted as being one of the best substations constructed in the Phoenix Metro area. The substation was constructed from eighty acres of farm land. Saulsbury Industries coordinated the development which included site engineering and site development. Saulsbury Industries installed three thousand cubic yards of concrete, one million pounds of steel, eight thousand feet of six inch schedule eighty tubular bus, three HVB 500kV dead tank breakers, eleven 230kV Alstom breakers, eight Alstom 500kV Switches, twenty-six Southern States 230kV center break switches and associated equipment. The total project duration was 8 months.
